After two successful engagements with media and journalists in 2018 and 2019, ATAF’s plan for the third engagement is to train journalists on identified tax issues as a capacity intervention initiative. Cognisant of the key role played by the media in enhancing voluntary tax compliance, raising awareness on key domestic, continental and international tax issues and serving as a watchdog vis-à-vis tax administrations and other government agencies as far as delivery of their mandates is concerned, ATAF launched this series of engagements to strengthen the capacities of journalists on the continent. Through these yearly meetings and subsequent continued interactions, ATAF is able to offer its expertise to the media, train and update them on developments on global tax issues.  The 3rd Media engagement will bring together a number of invited journalists from the across the continent and the active members of the African Tax Media Network (ATMeN) Steering group, in view of furthering the work started in 2018.
