The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) has just completed eight years of its existence secure in the knowledge that each of these years has seen the organisation growing in strength, capacity and prestige. I can therefore truly say that ATAF has become the type of institution of which Africa can be proud. From just being an idea, ATAF has blossomed into an international platform and a timely voice for the continent’s revenue authorities which today commands the respect and recognition of the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU), the African regional economic communities and other international fora.
