Environmental Taxes Defined
Environmental taxation is fast becoming a priority on every country’s fiscal agenda. However, it is likely to be introduced at varying speeds, depending on each country’s level of economic development. While some countries are proficient in the application of environmental taxes, others are still struggling to grasp exactly what they represent. This is compounded by the fact that so far, no single internationally prescribed regulatory framework has been established to define what environmental taxes are.
