The outlook for Africa as an investment destination remains positive. This optimism is accompanied by an encouraging pragmatism, on the part of business leaders and on the part of African governments and their tax authorities. With six out of ten fastest growing economies coming out of Africa, most economies in sub-Saharan Africa turned in a solid performance with an aggregate GDP growth rising to 5.0 % in 2011, up from 4.7 % in 2010.
