Over the last year there has been unprecedented attention focused on the role of tax administrations in delivering the revenues that governments need. Tax administrations now have to live in a global environment where technology has enabled financial institutions to move vast sums of money around the world at the click of a mouse. Despite the challenges that globalization poses for tax administrations, one should not underestimate the benefits of globalization: benefits for citizens; for governments; and for business.
